Robinson selected as Investigator of the Year

Investigator Mark Robinson was selected as Investigator of the Year at the summer conference hosted by the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia. Robinson was one of three investigators from across the state who were honored earlier this week at the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia’s annual summer conference. Congratulations Mark!

Robinson nominated as Investigator of the Year

We are proud to announce that one of our own as been nominated for Investigator of the Year. Mark is a great investigator, and he does amazing things for the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit. We are blessed to have him as an employee and friend.

Baldwin County case resolved by guilty plea

Carl Justice entered a guilty plea in Baldwin County Superior Court today. He entered a guilty plea to the offenses of Homicide by Vehicle in the First Degree and Serious Injury by Vehicle, and he was sentenced to thirty (30) years with the first fifteen (15) years to be served in the the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Spensley enters a guilty plea in Jones County

On July 15, 2019, James Randall Spensley entered a plea in the Superior Court of Jones County before the Honorable William A. Prior, Jr. Spensley pled guilty to charges arising from an incident occurring nearly a year before on July 27, 2018. Spensley, in the early morning hours, intentionally set fire to the residence of Inv. Heather Murray of the Jasper County Sheriff's Department. She was asleep at home at the time as well as her husband and her three children, 8, 4 and 2 months. A passing neighbor saw the blaze while leaving the neighborhood for work and managed to wake the family. Hancock County case closed- ruled suicide

After a thorough review of GBI file number 06-0130-34-19, it was determined by District Attorney Stephen A. Bradley that this case should be closed due to the shooting of Dequane Williams being self- inflicted. Below is the letter that DA Bradley sent to GBI Agent Joe Wooten to close the case.
