
Judgement on Benson affirmed by Court of Appeals
The Georgia Court of Appeals recently affirmed the judgement of Joshua Reed Benson. Benson was convicted after a jury trial in April, 2019 of the offenses of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Benson was sentenced after the trial to thirty-three (33) years with the first twenty (20) years to be served in the Department of Corrections, $200,000.00 fine and fees, and other special conditions of probation.

Long lines make excellent audiences!!! Jones County Victims' Advocate Nancy Gordon took advantage of the long voting lines here at the Jones County Government Center to educate our citizens that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and passed out bracelets reading "Love Shouldn't Hurt!"


Cochran named ADA of the year
It is our honor to announce that one of our own, Brent Cochran, has been named Assistant District Attorney of the year by the District Attorney's Association of Georgia. Brent currently works in our Wilkinson and Jasper County offices. He is a great guy and always goes out of his way to help others. We are blessed to have Brent as a part of our team.


October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
This October, the Jones County District Attorney's Office of the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit is raising awareness to domestic violence in the community.
