
Baldwin County case resolved by plea
This morning in Baldwin County, Johnathon Chuck Edwards was sentenced to 30 years with the first 15 years to be served in the Georgia Department of Corrections for inflicting injuries on his 9 month old daughter. The Defendant entered a guilty plea to aggravated battery, theft by taking, and hindering emergency telephone call. Special thanks to Baldwin County Sheriff's Office and Inv. Hensley sentenced to Life without Parole
On June 23, 2021, a Putnam County jury returned a verdict of guilty for three (3) counts of Aggravated Child Molestation, Rape of a Child under 10 years, Incest and Child Molestation against Edward Hensley. This afternoon, Chad Louis Haufler, Sr. was convicted by a Greene County jury of 2 counts of Malice Murder, 2 counts of Felony Murder, Possession of Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Assault, and Aggravated Battery. A Baldwin County jury deliberated less than a hour before convicting Timothy Ivester McClendon of 3 counts of child molestation on an 11 year old victim. The verdict followed a 4-day trial which included testimony from a teenaged victim who had accused McClendon of sexual abuse back in 2014 in Chattooga County, Georgia.
